    Anatoliy completed a PhD in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009. He also holds a M.S. in Library & Information Science from Syracuse University in the United States and both B.S. & M.S. in Computer Science from Dnipropetrovsk National University in Ukraine.

    Anatoliy’s current research includes the development and evaluation of various text mining techniques and visualization tools to automatically uncover social networks between online participants from their digital footprints alone. The main goal of this research is to provide researchers, managers and information seekers with additional insights into the behaviors and attitudes of online network members and their relationships to each other. His other research interests include Context-aware Information Retrieval, Digital Libraries and Information Organization & Access (in particular, Folksonomies and Web APIs).

    His work has been presented and published in journals and conferences such as Information Processing & Management, the American Society for Information Science and Technology, Communities & Technology, Digital Libraries, GROUP, Networked Learning and others. Most recently, his paper on “Studying Collaborative Learning using Name Networks” (full-text) has received the ALISE 2009 Best Paper Award and has been published in the Journal of Education for Library and Information Science.
