Social Media Lab awarded grant from Elsevier to develop WebApps

The Social Media Lab at the Dalhousie University School of Information Management has been awarded a new grant ($12,100) to develop the next great web application for Elsevier’s* new SciVerse search and discovery platform. This grant will allow the Social Media Lab to host the first ever Social Media Lab – Elsevier WebApp Concept Design Competition. As part of this competition, Elsevier is offering $3,000 in prizes and challenging Dalhousie students to help more than 15 million researchers, medical professionals, librarians and students navigate scientific content, improve scientific search and discovery, visualize sophisticated data in more insightful and attractive ways and stimulate collaboration.
